BFM® Flexi-Light Connector

Description:

A Flexi-Connector with slightly thinner Seeflex walls and a more.

Documents and Resources:

For in-depth information on the features and installation of the Flexi-Light Connector, refer to our detailed documents and resources.

The Flexi-Light Connector is made from an ether-based polyurethane with a lighter 316 stainless steel wire coil than our standard Flexi, making it ideal for applications with vertical and low-frequency /occasional horizontal movement.

The Seeflex walls are also slightly thinner and the coil is much more flexible making it perfect for weigh-scale type applications, as it provides less resistance than our standard Flexi.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the primary applications of the Flexi-Light Connector and what makes it ideal for these uses?

The Flexi-Light Connector is specifically designed for weigh-scale applications and other settings requiring minimal resistance and flexibility. Its construction includes a lighter 316 stainless steel wire coil and thinner Seeflex walls compared to our standard Flexi, making it highly suitable for bag feeders and applications involving irregular, mainly vertical and occasional horizontal movement. This reduced weight and increased flexibility ensure precise measurements and ease of movement.

  • How does the Flexi-Light Connector enhance operational efficiency and safety?

This connector's lightweight and flexible design make it particularly effective for dynamic environments where standard connectors might hinder performance. It is CIP (Clean-In-Place) safe, simplifying the cleaning process and maintaining high hygiene standards critical in industries such as food processing. Additionally, its compliance with 3A, USDA, EC, and ATEX standards ensures it meets rigorous safety and quality regulations, providing an extra layer of security in environments prone to dust explosions.

  • What are the key physical properties of the Flexi-Light Connector?

Made from Seeflex ether-based thermoplastic polyurethane, the Flexi-Light Connector features a wall thickness of just 0.4mm. It is transparent, dust-tight, and has a hardness of 90 Shore A. Its design allows it to withstand temperatures from -20°C to 85°C, with a surge temperature capability up to 105°C. These properties, combined with excellent vibration, oscillation, and compression capabilities, make it highly resilient in demanding industrial conditions.

  • Can the Flexi-Light Connector be customized to fit specific system requirements?

Yes, the Flexi-Light Connector offers extensive customization options to suit various industrial needs. It is available in diameters from 100mm to 300mm and can be ordered in lengths from 200mm to 6,000mm. While it does not support stainless steel or plastic rings, it features a tool release option for easy installation and removal, and can be specified as tapered or with one-ended configurations to accommodate unique setup requirements. These features make the Flexi-Light highly adaptable and suitable for a wide range of applications where lightweight and flexible connections are critical.
