At our 2025 Annual Luncheon, we were proud to honor Yailyne Hurtado and Laura Angeles as our Employees of the Year.
Yailyne Hurtado: Excellence in Leadership & Craftsmanship
Yailyne Hurtado has grown from a seamstress to Sewing Department Supervisor, becoming an indispensable leader in our production team.
Yailyne’s journey is a testament to perseverance, skill, and a deep love for her craft. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a Certificate of Master Tailoring, Yailyne brought her passion for industrial sewing to Siftex, where she has flourished in our fast-paced, collaborative environment.
As Supervisor, she manages quoting, production, and packaging, bridging communication across departments while upholding Siftex’s stringent quality standards.
Described as patient, resilient, and artistic, Yailyne’s work is as much about creativity as it is about precision. Her expertise is backed by training in manufacturing and quality control, and Siftex continues to support her growth through leadership opportunities, team coaching, and expanded responsibilities.
Laura Angeles: A Journey of Growth, Resilience & Impact
Since joining Siftex, Laura Angeles has become a cornerstone of our Customer Service team, recognized not just for her strong communication and multitasking skills, but for her adaptability and wide-ranging expertise across departments.
With a background in the food industry and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut, Laura brings over a decade of customer service and sales experience to her role. At Siftex, she connects directly with our clients discussing applications, providing quotes, updating orders, and ensuring that our customers get the best solutions with minimal downtime. She also works closely with vendors to keep projects on track.
What sets Laura apart is her incredible versatility. During the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, she seamlessly stepped into a role in our Sewing Department, helping to produce masks. From there, she learned how to hot air weld in Production, and later transitioned to her current role in Customer Service, an evolution that has given her deep insight into nearly every area of our operations.
Laura’s story is one of transformation, initiative, and a deep-seated desire to contribute. She exemplifies the kind of employee who doesn’t merely fill a role, but reshapes it through passion and purpose.
