Bingo Afternoon at Siftex: Celebrating the Team Behind Every Order

This October, the Siftex team in South Windsor, CT put down their tools for our annual bingo afternoon, complete with prizes and an Italian feast. The fun matters, but so does what it reflects: a team that learns together serves customers better. Here is how our events and our cross-training program work hand in hand.

How Siftex Brings the Team Together All Year

Every second Tuesday of the month, our team gathers for a luncheon from 12 to 1. A handful of larger events replace the usual lunch, including a bowling afternoon in March, our company picnic in June, bingo in October, Friendsgiving in November, and a Christmas lunch in December. These events usually land on Friday afternoons, a nice way to kick off the weekend.

Bingo Afternoon: Prizes, Italian Food, and Teamwork

Each bingo winner picks a gift from the prize table, which included wireless chargers, headphones, and jackets. Here is the twist: until everyone has a gift, a repeat winner chooses a teammate to receive the next prize. Those picks often go to someone from another department, which builds connections between the people who design, sew, weld, ship, and support your orders.

Monthly Cross-Training Recognition

At each monthly event, we recognize teammates who completed cross-training that month. October recognition highlighted growth in our Sewing , Welding , and Warehouse departments. Our October training log also shows work in Production General, including making order tags, adding morning orders to the log, building fabric books, and uploading quality control records, along with sewing skills such as manual cutting, design, and building Excel sheets for bills of materials. Recognition reflects how challenging each new skill is. Read more in our cross-training program overview and our earlier milestone recognition.

What This Means for Your Orders

When more than one person can cut, sew, weld, check quality, or add an order to the dispatch list, work keeps moving even when schedules change. For distributors, manufacturers, and end-users, that means a more dependable partner behind every custom flexible connector, and in-stock items ready to ship next day.

  • Which Siftex departments take part in cross-training?
